Account Settings

• My account won't let me sign in. What do I do?

  When registering your account, you need to activate it by clicking on the link in the confirmation email we send you. Can't find any emails from us? Have a look in your spam, and make sure that you typed in your email address correctly.

• How do I get a password?

  Register a free account on bimobject.com and sign in!

• Why does EVO need me to agree to data handling terms and conditions?

  EVO needs your user information in order for all of its features to work properly, but it wouldn't dream of using your data without your consent.

Downloading objects

• How do I download objects?

  Sign in to EVO and click search in the left menu. Search for the products you're interested in. Clicking on a search result will show you more details about the product and the different formats available for download. Just select the format you prefer, and you're done!

• How do I specify a location for my downloads?

  Go to the bottom of the left menu and click on account settings. There, you'll be able to specify your default download folder.

Software Support

• Does EVO support ARCHICAD downloads?

  Not right now – but as you're reading this, our developers are working hard at an ARCHICAD connection for EVO.

• Does EVO work for Revit LT?

  No, unfortunately Revit LT doesn't support external plugins or apps, so you need the full installation of Revit.

• If I have multiple Revit projects open at once, EVO tries to place the object in every open project. Is there a way around this?

  Not at this moment, but our best people are working on sorting it out for you. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Libraries

• Can multiple people log in under different user names and share the same local content? For example, if I pathed a folder from our server, but wanted another user to have access to it via EVO. Would it have to be pathed individually on each desktop?

  In order for several people to access the same content, they need to import the same library from the same network drive/path.

• Can I share my local libraries with other users, like a coworker using their computer?

  No, EVO doesn't allow sharing of local libraries yet. For now, you and your team member will have to import the same local library from the same place. Take a look at this video to see how it's done!

Families

• Can I batch push parameters into families? For example, if I wanted to add COBie parameters to all families, is there an easy way to do that?

  Yes, you can, and yes, there is! Download the BIMobject App for Revit. This app and EVO complement each other nicely.

• Can I use the search feature to find families?

  No, unfortunately, that isn't possible – at least, not yet. What you can do is tag your local content, and use the tagging feature to filter your objects accordingly.

BIMboards

• Can I invite other users to my BIMboard?

  No, but you will be able to very soon. For now, you can choose whether you want to make your BIMboard public or not while creating or editing it.

• Can I view my BIMboards that I created in EVO on the portal?

  Not yet, the EVO app is using the bleeding latest features not supported on the portal yet. However, when the portal get updated, you can share your BIMboards to anyone.

Tags

• Will other users be able to see my tags?

  Currently, your tags are only visible to you, but we're working on extending the feature so that you can let other users see them, too.
